1. Versions 1.0 is always buggy.
The first version of any Apple product will be outdated soon. It’s the First Commandment of Apple consumers: Thou shalt not buy the rookie products.
2. NO Support for Flash
Oh! Are you serious? Apple iPad is designed to give you a better browsing, gaming and rich graphical experience but it doesn’t allow video streaming? You’re offering something that will replace netbooks and laptops and that something can NOT run videos and flash based graphics? And what is the use of unlimited data packages then?
3. NO Multitasking
Well, again! Apple iPad is replacement to Netbook and it cannot support multitasking? It makes iPad just another iPod.
4. NO Webcam, NO Video Calls
There’s no webcam in iPad, neither on back nor on front. So, you can’t have a video chat and can’t make a video call with iPad. You talk about photos and videos and there’s no camera?
5. NO Extension Ports/Adapters, NO Expandable Memory
If you wanted to plug your digital cameras, your external HDD or even a card reader, there’s no way you could do this with iPad. There’s even NO USB port in iPad that even an average Netbook or a cell phone would have. This means you will NOT be able to expand your Apple iPad memory, now that is huge deal breaker to me.
6. NO HD Video Out
Apple iPad could be wonderful tool for presentations provided there was HD video out support. This could also enable users to watch videos in HD on bigger screens.
7. NO Calls and NO SMS
NO! You will not be able to make phone calls and send/receive SMS with Apple iPad. Even in 3G, its data only tablet that doesn’t support phone calls and have no support for SMS either.
8. NO Handwriting Recognition
It would have been nice to have handwriting recognition for Apple iPad. Emphasis has been on artists and students, both would have loved the handwriting recognition in iPad but …
9. NO Fit
I have an iPhone and a Laptop, why should I buy an iPad? Is there a single reason for spending $500+ on that “revolutionary” device?
10. An E-Book Reader for $500
So, iBook seems to be the good reason to buy an iPad. But for whopping $500, why shouldn’t you rather go for Amazon Kindle then.
Apple iPad seems to be just another iPod, the bigger one that can’t multitask, doesn’t support flash, have no room for expandable memory, doesn’t let you attach your devices to it and list goes on. All this comes with an “unbelievable” price of minimum $500, doesn’t sound like a good deal.
I am not going for it…

Welcome to sweet Bhavna to this world and a perfect addition to this fantastic family…

She is so adorable and looks almost like her mom… mmm.. for a moment I thought her name would also start with a D to make 4D’s for a family (Dev, Deepika, Dakshin already). Never mind…
Bhavna was born on 1/13/2010, measuring 20.5″ and weighing 7 lb and 15 Ounces.

Congrats to Dev, Deepika and Dakshin…
You get unlimited movies for $9.00/month and its coming in spring. Not in HD though and if u read the disclaimer thoroughly, not all new movies comes thru instant streaming…

You normally see a few jokes here and there in Tamil movies.
A reasonably intelligent movie like Chennai 600028 trips on Chandramukhi
Venkat Prabhu’s own Saroja trips on Chennai 28
Thalaivar Rajini’s Sivaji tripped on so many movies - Tamil & Telugu (a la Om Shanthi Om’s intelligent spoofs)
But, this movie, as described by the director is possibly Kollywood’s answer to Scary Movie, Hot Shots & Naked Gun.
QUOTE
Says Dhayanidhi, “Tamil Padam is the first ever full length spoof film in Tamil. The story is a humorous take on the predictable Tamil formula films.”
CS Amudham the director of the film says: “ In Hollywood the spoof is a popular genre and there has been films like ‘Scary Movie’ a spoof on horror films. Similarly we are spoofing the Tamil mass film. You will laugh your guts out. In short it’s celebration of Tamil cinema.”
UNQUOTE
Everything I have seen and heard so far is mega-spoofy. The director, C S Amudhan has an ad agency called Winds of Change which does Outdoor (Hoardings, Banners, etc). Pulli Raja, Prime Roaster and those atrocious Fitness One ads were all his creations… So, it figures.
Take the Soundtrack. The song “O Maha Zeeya” is one great spoof of all the nonsense which goes on in the name of lyrics in a lot of Harris Jeyaraj songs… The title refers to the gibberish heard at the start of “Uyirin Uyire” in Kaakka Kaakka
Spoofs in the O Maha zeeya song (or This)
Uyirin Uyire- Kaakka Kaakka
Hasili Fisili – Aadhavan
Randakka – Anniyan
Naakka Mukka – Kaadhalil Vizhundhen
Dailamo Dailamo – Dishum Dishum
Balailaka – Sivaji
Ohi lohi mahi lohi ya – Beema
Osaka Muraiya – Alli Arjuna (Rahman’s One 2 ka 4)
Shakalakka – Mudhalvan
Ullahi ullahi – Lesa Lesa
And the best one .. Laalaakku Dol Dappimma – Suriyan
Spoofs in the Trailer (or This )
Absurd Action packed Vijay Intro Sequences (Camera from Top in this case)
Dasavatharam (The US President and all)
Nayagan (Inime appadithaan with Nayagan theme in the background)
Boys (4 pairs of legs dangling from a wall)
Sivaji (2 hand signing)
Baadsha
Simbhu (Style)
Billa (cooling glass scene)
Run (subway sequence)
Kaaka Kaaka (aerial shot)
Thalapathy
And the coolest : The town is called Cinema Patti… How cool is that!!
Spoofs in Movie Stills
In addition to the movies mentioned above,
Roja (The couple inside the same sweater)
Annamalai (The brown suit and low camera angles)
Uyire (The mail poster)
Sathya (The hospital sequence)
Baba (trips on the Baba mudra)
Poster Spoofs
Ramki’s Dafli Song in Senthoora Poove (Image, Video) and the Poster (The exact frame appears exactly 60 seconds into the video)
Singaravelan’s Pudhu Cheri Kacheri (Image, Video) and the Poster (Note the tongue in cheek ad)
Enga Ooru Paattukaaran’s Senbagame (Image, Video) and the Poster . (Ramarajan is just awesome fun as he is trying to sing when he is busy milking the cow (See this to believe it) . Shanthipriya coyly watches the sequence (Guffaw!)
Rajini’s Konji Konji from Veera and (Image, Video) and Poster
Thillana Mohanambal (Image 1,Image 2 ) and Poster with M.S Bhaskar playing Balaiyya’s Thavil Vidhvan’s role
Pre-Release Concept Posters
The first one which came out talked about the movie not being a “Different one”
One more poster of the movie takes Gap10’s trip by using the MS font Jokerman (LOL) and says a sorry before that by asking for the only word in tamil which Gap10 does not like
Another poster spoofs the typical rape scene in tamil movies by showing a male hand forcing a female hand in front of a painting showing a tiger slaying a deer
One is a preachy Gap10 kind of dialogue referencing Gandhiji, etc and at the same time referring to tons of Punch Dialogues
One features the 10 commandments of Tamil cinema (Commandment 9 is Thou Shall single-handedly take on & eradicate all the evil in the world and commandment 10 is Thou shall have a six-pack) … There are some really nice differences between the Tamil & English versions.

Getting the feeling on Pongal only when seeing these tamil greetings. Wish you all a happy Pongal!!!
After a long long plan across all over the holidays, we finally went out to Black river falls for a combined outing with both teams from Appleton, WI and Minneapolis, MN.

It was terribly cold when we started from Appleton, with temperature touching as low as -7 F(-22 C). This is the first time I am noticing that my car can show temperature even in negative

we were a little bit delayed to start with some last minute office work.
It was a 3 hr drive from Appleton.
I had a good non-veg food all thru the weekend and thanks to all non-veg samayal people (Anitha, Akila, Vidya and Suganya for keeping all kids busy not letting them to disturb cooking people) for keeping me occupied with food all time.
We’ll first have a round of intro to all those who came.
I just missed Abhishek and Shweta…
It was good to have a big group under one roof. We went to tubing on Saturday here. It was my first visit to a ski resort. Shame on me in not going to a ski resort living in snow covered Appleton for more than a year. Anyway, tubing was fun.
It was the second winter for my little angel, the first year being in Hartford, CT. Below is the picture of first outing to Susquehanna, PA in 2008 on left and the second outing to Black river falls, WI in 2010 on right. Refer here for pics from that trip.

Now here is Rajitha one year after in Black river falls, WI
Trip also included a visit to the nearby Casino at Baraboo. Played Roulette for around 3 hrs and didn’t gain much but was total fun…
You can view all the pics of this trip in my picasa Album.
Here is everyone who came in to the trip.
My Likes:
1. Location was really good
2. Everyone contributed to the success of the trip
3. Big common bedroom. I was able to talk to all people all thru the nite. Seshu got the name “Cheezu” infact on saturday nite.Ask him for further explanations.
4. We went to an outdoor event
5. No cell coverage/internet and that is like being in a seperate world.
6. Interaction with Minneapolis folks especially Abhishek and Vidya which is really needed for a better communication between us. Thanks to both of them for making to the trip.
My Dislikes:
1. Not enough time; probably need 3 days atleast.
2. Frequent kadankaran(property owner) thollai.
3. No interaction between veg and non-veg group.
4. Should have had a hot tub bath and a fire pit; but did not due to lack of time
5. Hated to reach Appleton before sunset.
6. No common discussion time between everyone. Most of them were deply sunk with movies
Before leaving this site, put in your comments on what did u liked most in this trip and what you didn’t like in this trip. We’ll try to do better in our next trip.
Google’s new phone based on Andriod is provided with T-mobile for $79.99 per month. Looks promising but still not better than iphone in visual look. I will wait for some more time before I upgrade my existing Tmobile blackberry to the nexus.
