Orkut was not that popular when compared to Facebook/Twitter at least in US. Even most of my orkut contacts started using facebook actively. I was wondering why Google is not showing any interest in promoting orkut.
They have responded with what is called as Google buzz. Imagine taking snippets of Twitter, Yammer, Foursquare, Yelp, and other social services, and joining them together into one package; and then putting in to gmail. Thats what is Google buzz.
The very smart move here is that instead of staring a new site or service, they have integrated in to gmail which already has more than 100 million users. Lets see if it overtakes Twitter and Facebook.
Note: If you dont see Buzz in the left menu under Inbox, dont worry, you will soon get it. Google is installing this in waves of user base.
8 Characters, 1 room, no explosions, no stunts, no fireworks, no big casts, no million $ sets. Just a fantastic screenplay and superb Movie…
Watch and you will appreciate too…

Welcome to sweet Bhavna to this world and a perfect addition to this fantastic family…
She is so adorable and looks almost like her mom… mmm.. for a moment I thought her name would also start with a D to make 4D’s for a family (Dev, Deepika, Dakshin already). Never mind…
Bhavna was born on 1/13/2010, measuring 20.5″ and weighing 7 lb and 15 Ounces.
But, this movie, as described by the director is possibly Kollywood’s answer to Scary Movie, Hot Shots & Naked Gun.
QUOTE Says Dhayanidhi, “Tamil Padam is the first ever full length spoof film in Tamil. The story is a humorous take on the predictable Tamil formula films.”
CS Amudham the director of the film says: “ In Hollywood the spoof is a popular genre and there has been films like ‘Scary Movie’ a spoof on horror films. Similarly we are spoofing the Tamil mass film. You will laugh your guts out. In short it’s celebration of Tamil cinema.”
UNQUOTE
Everything I have seen and heard so far is mega-spoofy. The director, C S Amudhan has an ad agency called Winds of Change which does Outdoor (Hoardings, Banners, etc). Pulli Raja, PrimeRoaster and those atrocious Fitness One ads were all his creations… So, it figures.
Take the Soundtrack. The song “O Maha Zeeya” is one great spoof of all the nonsense which goes on in the name of lyrics in a lot of Harris Jeyaraj songs… The title refers to the gibberish heard at the start of “Uyirin Uyire” in Kaakka Kaakka
Spoofs in theTrailer(or This ) AbsurdActionpackedVijayIntroSequences (Camera from Top in this case)
Dasavatharam (The US President and all)
Nayagan (Inime appadithaan with Nayagan theme in the background)
Boys (4 pairs of legs dangling from a wall)
Sivaji (2 hand signing)
Baadsha
Simbhu (Style)
Billa (cooling glass scene)
Run (subway sequence)
Kaaka Kaaka (aerial shot)
Thalapathy
And the coolest : The town is called Cinema Patti… How cool is that!!
Roja (The couple inside the same sweater)
Annamalai (The brown suit and low camera angles)
Uyire (The mail poster)
Sathya (The hospital sequence)
Baba (trips on the Baba mudra)
Poster Spoofs
Ramki’s Dafli Song in Senthoora Poove (Image, Video) and the Poster (The exact frame appears exactly 60 seconds into the video)
Singaravelan’s Pudhu Cheri Kacheri (Image, Video) and the Poster (Note the tongue in cheek ad)
Enga Ooru Paattukaaran’s Senbagame (Image, Video) and the Poster . (Ramarajan is just awesome fun as he is trying to sing when he is busy milking the cow (See this to believe it) . Shanthipriya coyly watches the sequence (Guffaw!)
Another poster spoofs the typical rape scene in tamil movies by showing a male hand forcing a female hand in front of a painting showing a tigerslaying a deer
One is a preachy Gap10 kind of dialogue referencing Gandhiji, etc and at the same time referring to tons of Punch Dialogues
One features the 10 commandments of Tamil cinema (Commandment 9 is Thou Shall single-handedly take on & eradicate all the evil in the world and commandment 10 is Thou shall have a six-pack) … There are some really nice differences between the Tamil & English versions.
A couple days ago a new service named CallingAmerica started, which permits you to make free VoIP calls to U.S. phone numbers using only your web browser. Offered free of charge, users are required to look at advertisements for about 10 seconds before calls are connected. Nice feature though!!

How about video chatting with someone who does not have a client like yahoo messenger? What if you are not able to install a client in your machine due to any constraints that you may have? Here comes an easy solution. TokBox allows you to video chat with anyone by just logging in to their homepage and inviting your friends by just giving your URL that is given by TokBox. Now that makes life so easy. Whats more good about this is that you can embed this video as an online feed in your blog or your homepage and broadcast whatever your camera sees.. Isn’t this interesting? What are you waiting for??

At Amazon, anyone with a computer and Internet access can serve as the human intelligence behind all sorts of tasks that computers can’t perform on their own. The Web site promises a way to make easy money: “Complete simple tasks that people do better than computers. And, get paid for it–Choose from thousands of tasks, control when you work, and decide how much you earn.”
I liked the sound of that, so I decided to try it out. There are more than 50,000 hits (thats what they call tasks) available to take for…
First task required me to read a product review and identify product features, for equipment like digital cameras. For 5 cents it was an easy job.
The next task required me to locate e-mail addresses for a group of gyms and health spas, most of which didn’t seem to have a Web site. That one seemed too much like work to me.
Some bigger ticket tasks were: $1 for people who worked at Gold’s Gym or 24 Hour Fitness to answer a short survey; $2 to add numbers to statisitics wiki site Numberpedia.org; 50 cents to write short plot descriptions for movies (“avoid spoilers”); $3 to rewrite articles on cat training; 70 cents to tag stub articles on the African diaspora in Wikipedia; and 75 cents to record your screen and voice as you browse a Web site.
I have just earned 5 cents as below…
